It’s never too late …

More than half a century after they first got together Pam Smith and Arthur Baldacchino have finally tied the knot at the Queens Hotel in Southsea.

The couple from Portchester first met 53 years ago when Pam was working in the paper shop in Eastney Road and Arthur was managing the fish shop opposite..

It’s the details that count …

When it came to planning their big day, bride-to-be Zoe Combes and her fiancé Ashley Meredith went into creative overdrive to ensure there were plenty of memorable moments.

The graphic and website designer used all her artistic flair and eye for detail when it came to creating keepsakes and making sure the event space looked beautiful.

It had to be the Queens …

When it came to choosing the perfect venue for their wedding, It was an easy decision for Phil Vickers and David Morant.

David explained: “We celebrated my 60th birthday here. We had afternoon tea in Libby’s (the room where we eventually chose to hold our wedding breakfast) and when it came to deciding where we wanted to get married, it seemed like a no-brainer.”

A touch of drama for Gill and Cameron’s big day

Tying the knot in the same hotel where an episode of TV gold, Mr Bean, was filmed was a big tick for Cameron Cosgrave – Lewsey and his drama loving new wife Gill on their big day.

Never too late for love …

More than half a century after they first met, Gail Chipperfield,75, and Tony Monson,78, tied the knot in style at the Queens Hotel.

They first met when Tony was celebrating his 24th birthday and Gail was just 21-years-old. The couple spent four good years together and then sadly parted.

Long distance love story

Locked down in Dubai with her husband-to-be, Rachel Al Mughairi knew Southsea was where she wanted to be for her wedding day.

She was determined not to let the 4,000 mile distance and the fact she was unable to travel due to Covid restrictions stand in the way of her marriage plans.

Patience is a virtue

It was a case of third time lucky for Alana and Stu Burnett when it came to holding their wedding day at the Queens Hotel.

Planning for their big day started in December 2018, when the couple first checked out the Elizabeth Room. Initial plans to marry in 2020 were delayed twice as a result of the pandemic and the wedding eventually took place in August 2021.
