Hotel Night Porter / Security

Responsible to : Duty Manager

Overall Objectives: To ensure the smooth running and security of the Hotel continues throughout the night.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Security of the guests by ensuring the correct maintenance of the fire exits
  • Service on the bar during silent hours
  • Ordering of newspapers and ensuring wake up calls entered on the switchboard
  • Cleaning of public areas, outside areas, lobby and reception
  • Setting up of the function rooms when requested
  • Making of reasonable requests for late night room service, and continental breakfasts etc
  • Ensuring the building is secure when all evening staff have left, and to regularly check security and fire safety throughout your shift.
  • Acceptance of night and early morning deliveries
  • Ensure all Health & Safety and Fire regulations are adhered to
  • Checking in and out of guests including the use of the PDQ payment machines
  • To attend any training or meeting as requested
  • Undertake any other duties as may be requested to ensure the overall smooth running of the Hotel.
  • Handover to morning Receptionist and Duty Manager.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Permanent

Pay: £17,800.00-£19,700.00 per year

Late Maid

RESPONSIBLE TO:  HEAD HOUSEKEEPER/DUTY MANAGER.

OVERALL OBJECTIVES:  Ensure that all Hotel guest areas are serviced daily to the required standard.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

  • To greet and welcome all guests when in public areas.
  • Service all Public Areas allocated to you, ready for the Head Housekeeper or Assistant to check, to required standard.
  • Hand lost property to the Head Housekeeper/Duty Manager.
  • Ensure service areas and corridors are tidy and clean
  • Ensure trolleys are tidy and re-stocked
  • Report any faults or breakages to the Head Housekeeper.
  • Ensure vacuum cleaners are clean, emptied and in good working order.
  • Carry out extra cleaning duties requested by the Head Housekeeper or use own initiative.
  • Report any accidents or hazards to the Head Housekeeper/Duty Manager.
  • Assist with any other duties within the department so as to ensure cleanliness and smooth running of the department.
  • Comply with all health & safety and fire regulations.
  • Attend any training sessions as requested.
  • Save energy by avoiding unnecessary waste
  • Ensure guest and hotel property is secure at all times.
  • Due to the nature of the hotel business, you may be required to work in other departments. When this is the case, you should work to the job description for the relevant role.
  • Additional hours may be required.
  • First Aid knowledge/certificate would be beneficial for this position.

Hours of work are1800-2200 Thursday to Sunday.  Salary is dependent on experience.

COVID-19 Update

We are working on a plan to re-open The Queens Hotel by 17 May that ensures the safety of our staff and guests and we have completed a risk assessment in line with the latest advice.
