Your Bedroom Booking

How can I make a reservation?

You can make a reservation on our website or by contacting our reservations team on reservations@queenshotelportsmouth.com or 023 9282 2466.

Can I cancel or change my reservation once it has been made?

Amendments and cancellations are free up to 24 hours prior to the date of arrival. After this time, the first night rate will be charged against your credit/debit card. No shows will be charged the equivalent of the first night rate.

What time is check-in/checkout?

Check-in opens at 3pm. Checkout is at 11am. The reception desk is manned 24hrs so late check-ins are available.

Can I request an early check-in or late checkout?

This can be arranged upon request, subject to availability.

Is it cheaper to book through the hotel rather than on third-party websites?

Yes, it is always cheaper to book directly through us.

Is breakfast included in my stay?

If you did not add breakfast during the reservation process, it will not be included as standard. However, breakfast can be added to your booking at an additional fee or purchased at the hotel.

Can a cot or extra bed be added to a room?

Cots and extra beds can be added to a selection of rooms in the hotel. If you require a cot or an extra bed, please request this during the reservation process so the correct room type can be allocated to your booking.

Food & Drink

Is there an onsite bar or restaurant?

We have both. Restaurant 1865 is a fine-dining restaurant that serves British cuisine. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as afternoon tea. Food and drinks are also available in Dukes Bar, which is open all day. Both the restaurant and bar are open to residents and non-residents.

*Kitchen closes at 9pm. Bar and restaurant closing times are flexible.

Do I need to book a table in the restaurant or bar?

We recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. Bookings can be made on our website or by contacting the food and beverage team on 1865@queenshotelportsmouth.com or 023 9282 2466. Alternatively, you can speak to our reception team upon arrival at the hotel. If you wish to have afternoon tea with us, advance booking is essential.

How much is afternoon tea and when is it served?

Afternoon tea costs £30 per adult and £15 per child. It is served from 1pm – 4pm Monday to Saturday. Reservations need to be made in advance.

What time is breakfast served?

Weekdays: 7am – 10am
Weekends: 8am – 10.30am

Can I book Sunday Lunch?

Yes, absolutely. Please click here to book your space. If you require to speak to our restaurant team, please email on 1865@queenshotelportsmouth.com. Please note, that due to popular demand, reservations for our Sunday Lunches are a must.

Does the hotel cater for dietary requirements?

Yes, we do. Please notify a member of our staff about dietary requirements prior to your booking here.

Are children allowed in the bar and restaurant?

Children are allowed in both the bar and the restaurant. However, they are not allowed to approach the bar itself to place an order.

Are dogs allowed in the bar and restaurant?

Dogs are allowed in Dukes Bar but they are not allowed in Restaurant 1865.

Events

Is the hotel licensed for wedding ceremonies?

Yes, we are licensed for wedding ceremonies so you can get married at the hotel.

Can we hold our wedding ceremony in the hotel garden?

Sorry, but the garden is not available for wedding ceremonies.

What is the maximum number of guests that can attend a wedding?

We can cater for up to 120 wedding guests.

What is the maximum number of people that can attend a sit-down meal?

We can host sit-down meals for up to 150 guests.

Can the garden be hired for private events?

Exclusive hire of the garden is available from Monday to Thursday only. From Friday to Sunday, areas of the garden can be booked for private parties, but exclusive hire is not available on these days.

When is the garden marquee available for hire?

The marquee is available for hire from October to March.

Does the hotel have family rooms?

We have a small number of family rooms available, which can cater for 1 or 2 adults and 2 or 3 children.

What is the difference between the Superior and Standard rooms?

Superior rooms are newly renovated.

Do the bedrooms have heating/air-conditioning?

Some of our rooms have heating and air conditioning units. Other rooms have central heating but no air-conditioning. However, fans are available upon request.

Does the hotel have a car park?

Yes, we have a large onsite car park which is free for hotel residents. Parking is on a first come first served basis. Parking Eye is in operation so the car registration number must be entered into the machine at reception upon arrival. Failure to input the car registration number will result in a parking fine. The hotel does not accept responsibility for any damages, accidents or losses.

Does the hotel have disabled access?

The hotel is accessible and has a step-free entrance on Osborne Road. We also have a number of disabled rooms available, as well as a lift.

Is smoking allowed anywhere in the hotel?

Smoking is prohibited throughout the whole hotel, including on the bedroom balconies. Guests who wish to smoke must do so outside.

Is the hotel dog-friendly?

Yes, we are a dog-friendly hotel. There is a £25 surcharge per dog per stay. Please note that dogs are only allowed in certain bedrooms and these are subject to availability. Also they are allowed in Dukes Bar but they are not allowed in Restaurant 1865.

When is your garden open?

Our garden open every sunny day beginning with April, 2024.
Our Sunday Sessions run every Sunday from 26th May until 1st September.

Are gift vouchers available?

Gift vouchers can be purchased via our website, over the phone or at reception.

What is the nearest train station/airport?

The nearest train stations are Portsmouth Harbour and Portsmouth & Southsea. The nearest airports are Southampton and Bournemouth.
