We have created a casual dining experience with an emphasis on using the best local produce to make delicious food. We want 1865 to be the restaurant you choose because it offers sumptuous food in wonderful surroundings - and we can’t wait for people to come and sample our exciting menu.

Delicious Afternoon Tea 😁 Visited on Sunday for afternoon tea and it was fabulous from start to finish. Great atmosphere in the beautiful room we were sat in and the food....well, we were absolutely thrilled with the quality, quantity and service. The service was absolutely charming and the staff were polite and engaging, it was an absolute pleasure and we will definitely do this again.Tripadvisor

Restaurant 1865

15ft high ceilings, elaborate plasterwork and exquisite chandeliers, Restaurant 1865 really captures the grandeur of Edwardian elegance and transports you back in time.

Our casual dining restaurant is open to hotel residents and non-residents alike. Guests can start their day with breakfast while enjoying unmissable views from our huge south facing windows. They can also tuck into lunch, dinner or afternoon tea in Restaurant 1865.

We serve breakfast from 7 – 10am on weekdays and from 8 – 10.30am at weekends.

Our A La Carte menu is served from 12 – 9pm, every Monday to Saturday.

Our Sunday menu is served from 12pm – 6pm every Sunday.

Afternoon Tea

Come and indulge yourself when you order afternoon tea at the Queens Hotel. Made to bring a bit of theatrical sparkle to your life – you are sure to want to book again.

Prepared and served fresh each day by our talented pastry team, our menu is a mix of the traditional combination of sweet and savoury. Focusing on local ingredients, our menu is updated seasonally.

Our traditional afternoon tea is £30.00 per person (price may vary for special events) and needs to be booked in advance. It is served Monday to Saturday, from 1pm to 4pm.

Children's Afternoon Tea

Perfect for a birthday celebration or just as a special treat, our children’s afternoon tea is sure to create magical memories for our younger guests. They can tuck into sandwiches, scones and a variety of delicious cakes, all washed down with unlimited squash.

Our children’s afternoon tea is £15.00 per person (price may vary for special events) and needs to be booked in advance. It is served Monday to Saturday, from 1pm to 4pm.

We use the best local produce from talented artisans and growers. By showcasing the wealth of tasty produce on our doorstep, we believe we are supporting an important element of our local economy.

Dukes Bar

Relax and unwind at Dukes Bar, where you can enjoy delicious food and drink prepared by our skilled team.

Open daily to hotel residents and the public from 8am to 11pm, Dukes Bar commands wonderful views of the comings and goings on the Solent. On warmer days, why not find a spot on our verandah or take a seat in our private garden and our attentive team will take care of the rest.
